"Gleaning" at Sanxiuyuan's Neighborhood Singing Art Festival
Yunhuo 10th Anniversary Performance
A Fire-Theatre Journey Through Flavor, Nostalgia, and Identity Inspired by the picture book Memories on the Tip of the Tongue, this performance traces a young man's return to his hometown in search of the flavors etched into his memory. As familiar aromas stir his soul, fragments of childhood, family kitchens, and village life begin to glow once more—like embers in the dark. Blending drama, fire dance, acrobatics, and live music, the work creates a vivid, multisensory experience that celebrates the deep ties between food, memory, and cultural identity. It is a stage where home and longing meet—where those who left and those who remained rediscover their roots through the art of flame and flavor.
Song of the Earth
The “Song of the Earth” series was initiated by the Hsinchu Symphony Wind Orchestra and, since 2022, has been developed in collaboration with YUNFIRE INFERNO Fire Dance Troupe through cross-disciplinary collective creation. Each year, the project gives rise to new works inspired by the landscapes and cultural heritage of Taiwan’s Hakka communities.
Bridging the artistic forces of Yunlin and Hsinchu, the series aims to tour towns across Taiwan. Since 2023, it has also reached international audiences, with performances in Kumamoto, Japan, showcasing Hakka-inspired theatrical creations that foster cultural exchange between Taiwan and the world.

Setouchi Triennale, Japan — “The Festival of the Deity ” Theatre
The Setouchi Triennale is a contemporary international art festival held across the islands of Japan’s Seto Inland Sea. In 2019, Yunfire INFERNO Fire Dance Troupe represented Taiwan in this festival’s performances.
Responding to the Setouchi Triennale’s core focus on maritime culture, The Festival of the Deity draws inspiration from the Mazu mythology. Through fire dance and musical theatre, it showcases the inclusiveness of Taiwanese culture—much like the vast ocean—and the vitality of folk beliefs.

Musical Fire Dance Theatre Crossing History and Faith
The Keelung Ghost Festival is an important intangible cultural heritage of Taiwan and the nation’s first officially designated major folk event. The 2020 Keelung Ghost Festival’s lighting ceremony was directed and choreographed by Wang Li-An. The theatrical performance, themed "Hip-Hop Ghost Festival," brought together the Yunfire INFERNO Fire Dance Troupe, Da Hong Ju Theatre, Cai Feng Music Ensemble, and Puzzleman for a collaborative performance.
Hip-Hop Ghost Festival is a cross-genre creation combining drama, fire dance, hip-hop, and ethnic music. It reenacts the historical trajectory from the 19th-century Zhang-Quan clan conflicts, the Sino-French War, the 1895 Japanese invasion, to today’s ethnic integration. The work embodies the Ghost Festival spirit of “compassion for humanity,” reveres the “Old Grand Duke,” and conveys a message of reconciliation across ethnic groups through hip-hop lyrics and theatrical storytelling.

International Folklore Dance Festival of Greece
In 2023, Yunfire Performing Arts Group represented Taiwan in a cultural exchange tour to Greece, where we were honored to participate in two major festivals: the Agrinio International Folklore Festival and the Cultural Gate – International Traditional Culture Festival.
During these exchange events, we shared Taiwan’s spirit of inclusivity and respect for diverse ethnic cultures. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to better understand the rich folk traditions of Greece and other participating countries. Our sincere thanks go to the organizers for their dedication to celebrating cultural diversity and fostering international friendship and cooperation through the arts.
Inclusive Theatre — Art Cultivation Outreach Performance
Planting the seeds of art in rural areas, bringing meaningful performances to students in remote schools. Starting in 2024, Yunfire INFERNO Fire Dance Troupe launched the Inclusive Theatre — Art Cultivation Outreach project, guiding children into the world of stories, exploring local specialty ingredients, and conveying the spirit of love and sharing.
